Federal Government Dental Assistance Plan (CDCP)

What is the CDCP?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal initiative designed to make oral health care more affordable for Canadians without dental coverage. It helps eligible residents with household incomes below $90,000 who lack dental benefits.

Not everyone is eligible at the same time.Examples of current eligible groups:

Who needs to renew?

Anyone enrolled who applied before May 1, 2025

How to Renew:

If you don’t renew, your coverage will end on June 30, 2025.


Recipe Corner – Pasta Primavera

Ingredients:

  • Kosher salt

  • 12 oz. spaghetti

  • 1/4 cup (or more) extra-virgin olive oil

  • 1 zucchini, sliced into 1/2" half-moons

  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and quartered

  • 1/2 red onion, sliced

  • 2 small leeks, sliced

  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped

  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1 cup grape tomatoes

  • 3/4 cup heavy cream

  • 1/3 cup frozen peas, thawed

  • 2 oz. Parmesan, grated

  • Lemon zest + juice (optional)

  • Freshly ground black pepper


Instructions:

  1. Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1.5–2 cups pasta water.

  2. Sauté zucchini in olive oil until golden; add asparagus and cook until tender. Remove.

  3. In same skillet, sauté onions/leeks until caramelized; add bell pepper and garlic. Cook.

  4. Add tomatoes, cream, peas, and ½ cup pasta water. Cook until tomatoes burst.

  5. Return pasta, zucchini, asparagus. Add Parmesan + pasta water. Cook until sauce is glossy.

  6. Finish with lemon zest/juice and pepper.
